Dentist Bio


Dr. Shamp
Dr. Shamp started his practice in Maple Grove in 1983 and has seen the growth and success of this community. He attended the University of Minnesota where he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science. He continued there to complete his dental degree and has been an instructor in the School of Dentistry for 20 years.

Dr. Shamp continues to attend many post graduate courses and has recently completed and extensive course in Esthetic Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Shamp is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Minneapolis District Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Shamp has been married for 30 years and has 3 children. In his free time he enjoys time with his family, fishing, water sports, hockey, church activities, wood working and traveling.

                                       

   His travels have included several dental mission trips to Guatemala including his most recent trip to Tejutla in March of 2007. Nancy , one of our dental assistants has gone on all Guatemalan trips with Dr. Shamp. Together they spend seven days providing dental care to the small villages in Guatemala.

   In January of 2006 Dr. Shamp traveled to Tanzania, Africa to do mission dentistry .  To the left is a picture of Dr. Shamp and one of the patients he was able to treat while there.
